How do I make purchases with my physical Fortuna card in stores?

You can use your Fortuna card to make purchases everywhere Visa® debit cards are accepted. You can also add your Fortuna card to your mobile wallet and use contactless pay anywhere Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ is accepted.

Using your physical card

1. Insert your card into a slot at the bottom of the machine and leave it there until the transaction is complete, or tap your card near the reader if you see the contactless payment symbol (which looks like a Wi-Fi symbol turned sideways).
2. Follow on-screen prompts. You might be asked to enter your PIN, or you may need to sign a digital or paper receipt to authorize the purchase.
3. Once the purchase is finalized, remove your card from the machine and take your receipt for your records.

Using Apple Pay
Apple Pay can be used at locations accepting contactless payments, identified by the Apple Pay or contactless payment symbol.

• With iPhone (Face ID): Double-click the side button, authenticate with Face ID or passcode, and hold the top of the iPhone near the reader.
• With iPhone (Touch ID): Double-click the Home button, rest your finger on it for Touch ID, and hold the top of the iPhone near the reader.
• With Apple Watch: Double-click the side button and hold the display near the reader until you feel a tap.

To use a different card, tap the default card to select another before authenticating.

Using Google Pay
You can use Google Pay at any store that accepts contactless payments (look for the contactless symbol or the Google Pay logo at the terminal).

1. Unlock your phone. You typically do not need to open the app itself.
2. Hold your phone to the reader. Hold the back of your phone close to the payment terminal for a few seconds.
3. Look for the check mark. A blue check mark will appear on your phone screen when the payment is successful.
4. Follow prompts if necessary. Some stores may ask for a PIN or signature, in which case, follow the on-screen instructions.
